The small history of the Omnia Paratus comic:

“Omnia Paratus” started way back in 2020 as a smaller webtoon that I worked on with my friend Lottie. “In Omnia Paratus” is the latin phrase for “Ready for Anything.” Actually, originally the comic premise I had wanted to make was a superhero esc comic. But I wanted to practice my skills on a seemingly smaller scale project. It was a really fun experience, but as time went on, our schedules had shifted, and the project was abandoned for a small time. But the storyline of Bonne and Riva had really touched my heart in a way I did not expect.
During 2021, I decided to reboot that comic as “Omnia Paratus R”, Bonne and Riva’s origin story would be retold, and I would be the sole artist, with input by Lottie. I had worked on this version of the comic for all of my college years. In some ways, I consider it my largest artists acomplishment, it is not a perfect story, but I commited to it, and really developed the characthers into something special. But after drawing the comic for four years, I decided I wanted to drastically change the status quo. I had finished the story I wanted to tell, the love story of Bonne and Riva, but the extra plot surrounding that started to bore me.
In the later years of the “Omnia Paratus R” comic, I was gearing up to introduce two new characthers, Bashir and Morana. A funny story about Bashir, I had originally intended on Morana being transgender, yet through conversation, I had found out Bashir is typically a male name. I had wanted to include more lGBTQ+ representation, and I took that as a sign to make Bashir transgender. In any case, it was these two characthers introduction in a spinoff comic, “Mors Vinct Omnia”, that gave me the vision to completely refresh Omnia Paratus.
In late 2024, I had decided to soft reboot the comic to simply “Omnia Paratus.” In this new version of the comic, I had established Bonne, Riva, Bashir, and Morana as a fantastic quartet of heroes. I had an ambitious idea for the opening arc, but while I was enjoying the charatcher dynamics, the story was dragging for me. It was hard, as I was five issues in, but I decided to take the lessons I learned and start over again.
That finally leads up to the modern comic “In Omnia Paratus.” I chose that name because it is the elongated latin expression, where as Omnia Paratus is shortened. I am really happy with how the series has evolved, and its a comic that is true to my heart. I am not a Stan Lee enthusiast, as he often took the limelight from many creatives, but he had a statement that stuck with me. In regards to the creation of the Fantastic Four, one of my favorite comics, he stated that he was motivated by his wife to create a series that he would personally enjoy, instead of something commercially motivated. That is what In Omnia Paratus and Omnia Paratus in general means to me. It is purely what I want to see as a comic, and I think at the very least, it is a very unique vision that you can not find anywhere else.
